I am an anaesthetist through and through, and my passion for this field remains as strong as ever.
That is why my greatest joy lies in sharing my knowledge, practical tips, and expertise in veterinary anaesthesia with others.
My goal is not only to help make anaesthesia for animals more modern and safer, but also to give my colleagues the confidence they need to truly enjoy delivering a good anaesthetic.
I have been very fortunate to learn “my specialty” over many years from a range of teachers and in different institutions. This allowed me not only to develop strong professional expertise and practical skills, but also to experience first-hand how important well-grounded, practice-oriented and clearly structured continuing education is in this vital field. I am inspired every time I see knowledge translate into clinical confidence, and how colleagues make more assured decisions when they truly understand what they are doing.
As a natural consequence, alongside teaching through seminars, webinars, lectures and hands-on training, I set out to build a platform that provides accessible knowledge on anaesthesia, analgesia, and related fields such as emergency and critical care medicine for veterinarians and veterinary nurses who wish to deepen their expertise.
I am firmly committed to growing the AnaesthesiaSkills platform over the coming years into a true hub of knowledge on anaesthesia, offering a wide range of formats and always staying up to date.

About me
I studied veterinary medicine in Giessen, Germany, and completed my doctoral thesis in Munich. During my dissertation, I had my first exposure to human anaesthesia at the Klinikum rechts der Isar, where I discovered my passion for the field.
After completing my residency at UC Davis in California, USA, I joined the University of Veterinary Medicine Vienna, where I spent many years teaching students, interns, residents and colleagues, while further deepening my expertise in anaesthesia.
Since 2022, I have focused on postgraduate education in anaesthesia through my company AnaesthesiaSkills, as well as in my role as Director of Education at the European School for Advanced Veterinary Studies (ESAVS).
